Hot off the success of his previous two mixtapes, 23 year old Bashy is on the cusp of releasing his debut album ‘Catch Me If You Can’. At the forefront of the hip hop, beat and grime scene, Bashy has being working in Grime’s capital; East London with the Pay As You Go Crew, Dizzee Rascal, Kano and Wiley.

Here he takes time out of his busy schedule to speak to Reprezent 87.7 FM:

innit, that’s who I am, that’s who my music is.

What kind of music are you into: As a rapper my voice is my instrument, but I’m into all different kinds of eclectic music, from indie to hard rap. Anything as long it’s good. Check out my mixtapes ‘Ur Mum’ and ‘The Chupa Chups’ to see the kind of music I make. My biggest influence in myself, I’m trying to lead the way.

What’s your tip for all everyone out there who is working on and listening to Reprezent 87.7 FM To be successful in any thing, even just within your self you have to keep an open mind, and more important than that, you have to use it. It’s no good being smart if you choose not to use it. Use any opportunity you get and don’t waste them, they don’t come round that often. The training opps given at Reprezent 87.7 FM are massive, I wish I had had something like that, to get officially trained up in music, in the production, in the presenting it’s a good opportunity to get a head start. Be smart, don’t waste it.
